“Deal could happen” – Tottenham transfer target with 35 assists has informed his teammates he is leaving

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham transfer target Borna Sosa is set to leave Stuttgart this summer and has reportedly having informed his teammates.

That’s according to German outlet BILD (via Buli News) , which claims that the player has already said his goodbye to his colleagues at Stuttgart.

He has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham, all said to be interested in signing him.

Reputable BILD reporter Christian Falk has previously confirmed Tottenham’s interest in his column for Caughtoffside, claiming that Spurs have concrete interest in the left back.

He wrote:

“Before, we’ve heard about concrete interest from Tottenham in Borna Sosa. This winter, Leverkusen tried to get him. Sosa also wanted to leave in the past.

He’s got new management and they’re in talks with Tottenham; Spurs are keen. He wouldn’t be too expensive for an English club, so I think this deal could happen this summer.”

The only problem for Tottenham is that they have failed to qualify for European football.

After his move to Leverkusen collapsed in January, he was quoted saying (via BILD (via GFN Germany) ):

“Every player sets goals in his career. I want to play in a team that is represented in Europe if possible.”

But he also expressed his desire to play in the Premier League saying, “Like many players, I dream of playing in the Premier League one day. It’s the strongest league in the world. The other teams besides the big six top clubs are also strong.”

While a move to Spurs can not be completely ruled out, he would be more likely to join Newcastle if he wants to switch to team that plays European football next season.

The Croatian 113 appearances for the Bundesliga side, scoring 5 and assisting 35 in all competitions.

While Spurs already have Destiny Udogie, they could be in the market for another left back with reports suggesting both Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon could be leaving in the summer.
