Former Tottenham player could return to the club if Antonio Conte is sacked

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 53-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and Tottenham have not agreed on an extension with him yet.

Conte seems to have fallen out with the club hierarchy and the players after his explosive rant following the draw against Southampton.

The Italian manager questioned the commitment and attitude of his players and outline the lack of transfers as well.

There have been rumours that Antonio Conte could be sacked during the international break.

A report from the Times claims that former Tottenham goalkeeper Michel Vorm could return as the interim goalkeeping coach if Antonio Conte and his staff are sacked this week.

Goalkeeping coach Marco Savorani is expected to leave the club along with Conte if the Italian departs and Vorm would be his replacement until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, former midfielder Ryan Mason is expected to take charge of the club as the interim boss until the end of the season.

Vorm has played for the club in the past and he knows Gautam well. He could prove to be a handy option until the end of the season.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of managers as potential replacements for Antonio Conte and it will be interesting to see who they end up appointing eventually. Former manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a strong candidate to return to the club at the end of the season.

Tottenham will be hoping that his bond with the fans and some of the key members of the squad will help lift the spirits around the club. The Argentine is currently without a job since leaving Paris Saint-Germain and he is thought to be on the radar of Real Madrid as well.
