Sky Sports journalist confirms Spurs are “very interested” in striker with 34 goals – have already “inquired about him”

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing RB Salzburg striker Noah Okafor, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Swiss forward has attracted interest from several clubs around Europe and is said to be keen on a move away to “make the next step” in his career according to the Sky Sports reporter.

The 22-year-old is a versatile attacker who can play in any position upfront, although his preferred position is as a striker. He has scored 34 goals and assisted 23 in 108 appearances for Salzburg in all competitions, making him one of their best rising talents.

Plettenberg reports that Tottenham are “very interested” in Okafor, and have already “inquired about him” ahead of the summer transfer window. AC Milan and Inter Milan are also reportedly keen on the striker, and he is expected to cost around €20-25m.

The Gunners are also reportedly interested in signing Okafor (according to Daily Mail), which could potentially start a bidding war between the North London rivals.

If Spurs do sign Okafor, he would add some much-needed depth to their attacking options. The Swiss international has already proven himself in the Austrian Bundesliga and is ready to take the next step in his career.

RB Salzburg have a reputation for developing world-class players who go on to dominate Europe. Some of the players the club has produced and sold include Dayot Upamecano, Marcel Sabitzer, Sadio Mane, and, of course, Erling Haaland.

The club could also be on the hunt to find a long-term replacement for Harry Kane who future remains uncertain and perhaps will view the young striker as someone who can replace him in the long run.
