Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their defensive options with the signing of the Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.
The 26-year-old joined the Turin giants at the start of the season and he has been outstanding for them. He was chosen as the best defender in the Italian league last year and he has been inducted into the team of the season this year as well.
The Brazilian has been an imperious presence at the back, but Juventus could be forced to sell him because of their financial problems. Apparently, the defender is not keen on leaving the Italian club but things could change because of the Italian club’s financial issues.
A report from Calciomercato claims Tottenham have had ‘contacts’ with the agents of the 26-year-old regarding a potential summer move and they want a player ‘with his characteristics’.
Bremer is a quality defender who could be the ideal partner for Cristian Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s defence.
Tottenham have been quite vulnerable defensively and they need to improve in the department if they want to do well and get back into the top four.
Signing a quality central defender should be a top priority for Ange Postecoglou in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham certainly have the finances to pull off the transfer and remains to be seen whether they can agree on a deal with Juventus.
