“A lovely Daniel Levy deal” – Former Premier League manager believes £60m star will join Tottenham this summer

Sam Allardyce believes James Maddison’s next move will be to Tottenham.

The Leicester City attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to Spurs since last summer, with the club reportedly showing interest but finding Leicester’s asking price too high at the time.

With the club now relegated, Levy will be able to negotiate a much better price for him and the veteran manager thinks Levy would be “rubbing his hands” at the possibility of securing a bargain deal for the attacking midfielder.

When asked about James Maddison’s next move, Sam Allardyce told No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast:

“Tottenham! It’s a lovely Daniel deal that one, isn’t it?! He will be rubbing his hands. Keep him fit and he improves Tottenham.”

90min reported yesterday that Ange Postecoglou has given the green light to the club to sign the attacking midfielder.

He could be the perfect fit for Postecoglou’s team considering his style of play.

While Maddison’s next move is yet to be confirmed, the prospect of him joining Tottenham has gained traction.

With the opportunity to secure the player at a potentially reduced price, Levy and the club will be eager to strengthen their squad with the addition of the talented midfielder.

But Tottenham will be facing stiff competition from Newcastle who are also said be interested in signing him.

They made two bids for him last summer but both bids were rejected by Leicester City who were holding on to their £60m demand.

Newcastle will have the advantage of offering him Champions League football and perhaps better wages too which would make it tricky for Tottenham to lure him.
