Lucas Moura has refused to rule out a move to Tottenham’s Premier League rivals in his first interview since Spurs exit was

Tottenham earlier this month confirmed that Lucas Moura, Arnaut Danjuma, and Clement Lenglet are all leaving the club.

While the other two were at the club only on loan, Moura’s departure was significant as the Brazilian left the club after 6 years.

He has been an important player for Tottenham over the years and played a crucial role in their stunning Champions League campaign in 2018/2019 season which saw them reach the final.

However, this past season was challenging for Moura, as he struggled with injuries and found himself drop down the pecking order behind the likes of Kane, Son, Kulusevski, and Richarlison.

His contract ended in the summer and the club decided not to renew his contract.

He has been linked with several clubs including the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle and Wolves.

And now speaking for the first time post Spurs exit, Lucas Moura has refused to rule out a move to another Premier League club.

When asked by French outlet Lequipe whether he would stay in England and play for one of Tottenham’s Premier League rivals, he said he ‘wouldn’t rule out’ a move.

He said that the Premier League remains the best League in the world and he would give any offer a ‘careful consideration’.

Moura also admitted to a twinge of regret about leaving Spurs. He mentioned that while he leaves with his head held high, he is saddened to part ways with his teammates, the city, and the club.

When asked how he felt leaving Tottenham after so many years with them, he said (via Sport Witness):

“It’s a mixture of emotions, I think. I’m leaving with my head held high and with the feeling of a job well done. I’ve built something solid and made my mark on the history of Tottenham, but I’m also leaving the club with a twinge of regret.

It hurts to leave this club, my teammates, the city… It will remain a positive experience. I’ve grown and progressed. My only regret is not winning a title. That’s a shame.”

It was reported last month that the player has been contacted by Newcastle regarding a summer move.

Newcastle finished well above Tottenham this past season and have proven themselves to be a rival to the likes of Spurs and others for the top 4.

They can certainly afford his wages and also offer him top level football.

He has also been linked with a move to his hometown club in Brazil.

It remains to be seen whether Moura chooses to stay in England and move to one of Tottenham’s rivals or explore other opportunities.
