Tottenham Hotspur are still in search of a replacement for former sporting director Fabio Paratici, who stepped down earlier this year following a 30-month ban from football. Recent reports suggest that Bayern Munich’s technical director, Marco Neppe, has emerged as a potential candidate for the position.
Neppe has been associated with Bayern Munich since 2014 when he joined the club as a scout. Impressing the management with his skills, he quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to “head of scouting” in 2017.
In 2021, he further climbed the ladder and became the technical director, demonstrating his approval from the club’s top brass.
According to Kicker journalist Georg Holzner, who tweeted the news, Neppe’s work at Bayern Munich has been questioned following the season they had. The journalist claims that Tottenham is considering Neppe for the technical director role, as the club explores potential candidates.
He tweeted: “According to Kicker, Tottenham have Bayern’s Marco Neppe on the list of possible candidates as Technical Director. The Spurs sound out the market. In #fcbayern on the other hand, Neppe’s work is questioned after the season.”

Neppe is just one of several individuals linked to the vacant position. Recent reports have suggested that Tottenham is also interested in recruiting Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobbs, AS Roma’s director Tiago Pinto, and former Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Tim Steidten.
As the current season draws to a close, Tottenham fans are growing increasingly anxious about the club’s situation. Chairman Daniel Levy has yet to appoint a new sporting director or manager, prolonging the uncertainty.
