Nine players to leave Tottenham including January signing as club begins massive squad overhaul

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the departure of several players as part of their summer overhaul.

Among those leaving the club are January signing Arnaut Danjuma, Barcelona loanee Clement Lenglet, and Brazilian attacker Lucas Moura.

In addition, six players from the development squad, namely Jamie Bowden, Kallum Cesay, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Roshaun Mathurin, Marqes Muir, and Romaine Mundle, will also be leaving after the conclusion of their contracts.

Clement Lenglet joined Spurs last summer on a year-long loan from Barcelona. He made a significant impact during his time at the club, prompting speculation that Tottenham would seek to secure his services permanently.

However, despite reports suggesting otherwise, the North London side confirmed that Lenglet would be departing this summer.

Meanwhile, Arnaut Danjuma, who arrived on loan from Villareal in January struggled to make an impact and secure regular playing time.

Recent reports had already indicated that the Dutchman would not be returning to Tottenham, and the club has now confirmed his departure.

The statement on their official website read:

“We can confirm the departures of Arnaut Danjuma and Clement Lenglet following the conclusion of their loan spells with us.

As previously announced, Lucas Moura also departs the Club this summer following the conclusion of his contract.

We can also confirm the departures of Development Squad players Jamie Bowden, Kallum Cesay, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Roshaun Mathurin, Marqes Muir and Romaine Mundle following the conclusion of their contracts.

We wish them all the best in the next stage of their careers

Tottenham new manager Ange Postecoglou will be leading the great summer rebuild which will see a lot of players going out and several new faces coming in.

The departures of these players signal the beginning of a significant summer rebuild for the club, under the leadership of their new manager, Ange Postecoglou.
