Despite stepping down from his role as managing director of football, Fabio Paratici remains an influential figure at Tottenham Hotspur, particularly in their transfer dealings.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law has revealed that Spurs will continue to consult with Paratici regarding transfers during the current window, even after the recent appointments of Scott Munn and Johan Lange in key positions.
Paratici’s association with Spurs began in 2021, but his tenure was cut short following his departure due to allegations of financial malpractice during his time at Juventus. FIFA imposed a 30-month ban, impacting his involvement in football worldwide.
Since resigning, Paratici has been a regular spectator during Tottenham games, commonly seated in a corporate box within the stadium.
According to the report, Paratici provided advisory services to Tottenham on a consultancy basis in the last summer’s transfer window, prior to Munn and Lange assuming their new roles.
The report also indicates that the Italian is still intermittently engaged as a consultant by Tottenham and will continue in this role throughout the January transfer window.
Having served Juventus as a sporting director for 11 years, Paratici has strong ties in the Italian football market.
He played a key role in some of the recent signings including left-back Destiny Udogie who has been immense for Spurs.
Among others Paratici helped bring to the club includes the likes of Dejan Kulisevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Cristian Romero, and Pape Matar Sarr. All of them have emerged as crucial performers for Postecoglou’s team.
It has been reported by Alasdair Gold that Spurs’ pursuit of centre-back Radu Dragusin, is also influenced by Fabio Paratici.
