The Tottenham Twitter account comes in for a lot of stick and that is to be expected after the last couple of seasons and so it was no surprise that another one of their tweets was met with a fairly hostile reaction.
This time it was an interview with Pierre Emile Hojbjerg.
The Danish powerhouse is one of the few Tottenham players that can hold his head high and so the club probably felt that posting an interview with the 26-year-old would go down well with the fan base, unfortunately, it got the same treatment as most tweets do from the club.
It was a standard interview, full of positivity and what the future holds, what it is like under Antonio Conte and so forth and the timing was not that bad really but when you have a fan base that has suffered so much they want more than platitudes, they want success.

I agree, some signs that the more intense training is having an impact and the work rate was up. It seems basic but it’s the basics that you always need to build other things on. It’s an intensity that Jose didn’t impose, he expects players to step up or they’re binned. That’s fine when you’ve got owners that will find a clear out and the acquisition of highly priced and paid top level 27 year olds. Most of this Spurs squad are not at that level, they need to be boot camped, regularly!

Agreed but the work rate was up..none of the tarts were out . Must work harder on passing options and accuracy..always happy to take a win..not brilliant but not lacking in effort which is progress.Three better players required.

Good to get the points. Still lack creativity in the midfield. A back three of Sanchez, Dier, and Davies ain’t going to win diddley-squat. Royal looks average from what I have seen. We need three quality signings at the very least in the January sales. CB, CM and CF. Offload, Winks, Sanchez, Ali, Ndombele, and Docherty if possible at the same time.

Have Brentford had a serious attempt on goal..we need to be tidier in passing options and delivery…but a deserved win.

Not been flowing football but little passages of it. With our defence the way it has been, I’m not sure Conte wants us streaming forward, typically Italian, be solid at the back and work from that base.
Still don’t think PEH or Skipp as a pair offer enough guile on the ball. We’ll be relying heavily on the work of the three forwards abs the wingbacks. We don’t have a playmaker, Kane dropping deep and pinging balls out seems to be the fulcrum of anything remotely creative.
What a player Kane is though to be able to weight passes like that and be a goal scorer. He’s not that dissimilar to Teddy…
Well he certainly ain’t as striker for us anymore, maybe he can play like Dele used to?
Maybe go all out for a decent striker and move Kane back into the no 10 role.His pass leading to Sonny’s goal shows he’ capable.

We will need that 2nd goal, otherwise the Spursy Nerves will kick in and Brentford might spoil our fun. Kane is just a shadow of his former self, the odd fine pass but he looks clumsy.
It doesn’t help Conte having players that can’t pass…..Moura has been terrible again, Son hasn’t added much and the less said about wide crosses the better ….we are however pressing better and picking up the ball quickly….we should forfeit corners and just give them the ball back…
Kane has been absolutely woeful, shown up by Son and Moura, even Skippy looks more threatening attack-wise.
Hopefully Conte works some magic half time, it’s there for us but just the players need that touch of finesse with the final ball.
Sanchez still seems a bit iffy too.

Our crossing from wide positions is generally very poor. Not convinced about Royal tbh. He does not seem to have the ability to get past his man. Skipp and Hoijberg chasing down in the middle well but our transitional passing is still shocking. Kane still looks as if he is in slow motion most of the time.
Would have liked a second goal before h/t, can’t see Brentford being so timid second half.
Strange match, subdued atmosphere. Its almost too comfortable for my liking. Again our final ball at times has been poor.
