Tottenham have ‘stepped in’ to sign playmaker with 29 goal contributions this season

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of Fenerbahce attacking midfielder Sebastian Szymanski.

The North London club are looking at ways to further bolster their squad and they have their eyes set on Sebastian Szymanski who has been on fire since joining Fenerbahce. The 24-year-old has done exceedingly well in the Turkish league and as per a report by Gazete Damga, Tottenham have ‘stepped in’ to sign the Polish international.

Szymanski had an impressive loan spell at Feyenoord last season where he contributed towards 17 goals in his 40 outings. On the back of those performances, Fenerbahce signed him from Dynamo Moscow last summer.

Since making the move, the 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength. He has been involved in 50 matches this term and has contributed towards 29 goals (12 goals & 17 assists). The playmaker’s impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs and there could be a bidding war for his services in the summer.

Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on his signature. They have entered the race and are looking at ways to sign the Polish international whose contract with the Turkish club runs until the summer of 2027.

Szymanski could be an excellent cover for James Maddison and he could even compete with the England international for a place in Spurs’ starting XI. Since the 24-year-old is capable enough to feature as a central midfielder and a right winger when needed, his arrival will give Ange Postecoglou multiple options to work with.

With three years left on his deal, Fenerbahce are looking for a minimum of €30 million for the Polish playmaker and it will be interesting to see if the North London club are willing to fork out the asking price for Szymanski.
