Tottenham have ‘shortlisted’ versatile 26-yr-old as summer target, he will cost just £15m

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly ‘shortlisted’ the Leeds United defender Robin Koch as a summer target.

The 26-year-old German defender has been relegated from the Premier League with Leeds and he could look to make a move back to the top flight.

The opportunity to join Tottenham could be an attractive proposition for the defender and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement.

As per Football Insider, the defender could be available for a fee of around £15 million and Tottenham certainly have the financial resources to pay the asking price. The reported asking price seems quite reasonable for a Premier League-level player and he could prove to be a bargain in the long run.

The north London giants will have to sign a reliable partner for Cristian Romero and the 26-year-old German could prove to be a useful option. Koch can operate as a central defender as well as a central defensive midfielder. His versatility could be an added bonus for Tottenham.

Koch has done reasonably well since his move to the Premier League and a move to Tottenham would be a major step up in his career.

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham and they have missed out on Champions League qualification. They will be looking to get back into the top four next year and they must look to bring in a quality manager as well.

It is fair to assume that any transfer would have to wait until a managerial appointment has been made.
