Tottenham identify 14-goal ace as the heir to key star, Man Utd want him too

By Saikat -

Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

A report from the Daily Mail claims that the striker is a target for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, ahead of the summer transfer window.

Apparently, Tottenham have identified the 18-year-old Irish forward as the heir to Harry Kane. The 29-year-old Tottenham star has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The England international will enter the final year of his contract in the summer and Tottenham could be under pressure to sell him in the coming months if he refuses to sign an extension with the club.

The North London giants will not want to lose a player of Harry Kane’s calibre on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

Ferguson has certainly proven his quality in the Premier League with Brighton, and he could prove to be a quality long-term investment for Tottenham.

Although he’s not quite at the level of Harry Kane, yet, the 18-year-old has the potential to develop into a top-class forward.

The youngster has 14 goals and five assists across all competitions for Brighton this season. Ferguson is more than just a goal scorer and his overall footballing ability has been quite impressive as well.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are looking to bring in a quality striker who can lead the line for them. Marcus Rashford has done quite well this year but the England international is more suited to a wide role.

Bringing in a specialist number nine will allow Rashford to operate in his natural role next season.

It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs manages to convince Brighton to sell their prized prospect in the summer.
