Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of Feyenoord ace Santiago Gimenez.
Signing a new number nine in the upcoming summer transfer window is one of the priorities for the North London club. They have shortlisted quite a few top-quality forwards and are making moves to ensure they get the right man for the job.
Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez is a player that Tottenham admire and according to a report by Medio Tiempo, Spurs have ‘approached’ to enquire about the player ahead of a potential move in the summer.
While the 23-year-old Mexican striker’s contract with the Dutch club runs until the summer of 2027, they will not stand in his way if an offer satisfies all parties involved. Since there is a lot of interest in his services, Gimenez’s representatives are in Europe to meet with the clubs that want to sign him.
They have begun having meetings with those interested in the former CD Cruz Azul striker who has 24 goals and seven assists in his 40 outings this season.
The objective of those meetings is to see which teams offer the best project for the 23-year-old. As per the report, the Tottenham project is the one that he likes the most from the outset. It will provide him with the opportunity to feature in top European competitions and compete for the Premier League title.
Spurs might have done a decent job this season without signing a Harry Kane replacement but Ange Postecoglou is expected to push hard for a new number nine in the summer as he feels it can help them take the next step. Gimenez is quite high on their wishlist and they are working on a deal to bring him to London.
