Tottenham confirm yet another fixture change – Spurs handed nightmare scenario

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League fixture against Manchester City, which was scheduled for April, was postponed last month.

Spurs were set to host the Citizens in North London on April 20th.

However, the fixture was postponed due to City’s involvement in the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Date and time set for match against Manchester City

Now the official social media account of the Lilywhites on X has announced the new date for the match against Man City.

The game is scheduled for May 14th, a Tuesday, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with kick-off set for 8 PM.

The match will serve as Spurs’ penultimate game of the Premier League season and their final home game. Its significance extends beyond Tottenham’s pursuit of a top-four finish, as it could also play a crucial role in determining the fate of the English top-flight crown for City.

Ange Postecoglou’s side currently sits in 4th place on the table with 60 points, which is the same number of points as Aston Villa. However, the Lilywhites have the advantage of a game in hand.

Tottenham faced a similar scenario back in February when their London derby against Chelsea was also postponed due to the Blues’ involvement in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

Spurs in for a nightmare finish to the season

The new date for the rescheduled fixture at Stamford Bridge has been confirmed as May 2nd.

This implies that Spurs will face Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Burnley, and Man City consecutively, necessitating that the North London outfit bring their A-game in the final stretch of the season.

With Aston Villa breathing down their necks, ready to capitalise on any potential slip-up, Tottenham will need to maintain their focus and performance levels.
