Tottenham ‘scouted’ 23-year-old PL star who scored the winner at the weekend

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 23-year-old has been outstanding in the Premier League and his performances have caught the attention of the North London club.

The midfielder has scored twice and picked up three assists in the league this season. He scored the winning goal against Manchester United at the weekend and Tottenham ‘scouted’ him during the game.

According to a report via Nottingham Post, the North London club ‘like’ him and they are considering a move for the player.

Gibbs-White is an attacking midfielder who is capable of operating as the false nine as well. The technically gifted midfielder will add pace, flair, drive and creativity to the midfield.

Spurs could certainly use more depth in the side and Gibbs-White would be a quality addition.

However, he plays in a role similar to that of James Maddison and the 23-year-old might struggle for regular game time at Tottenham. Although Maddison is sidelined with an injury right now, he is likely to be a guaranteed starter when he returns.

Gibbs-White will not want to join a club where he is unlikely to be a guaranteed starter and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. The 23-year-old is a talented player with enormous potential and he needs to join a club with proper gametime assurances.

In addition to that, he has a contract with Nottingham Forest until the summer of 2027 and he is likely to be a costly acquisition.
