Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison believes they will have a much more competitive team next season.
Despite the promising start to the season, it seems the North London club are all set to miss out on Champions League football for next season. Spurs had the opportunity to finish inside the top four but they have lost each of their last four league games which hasn’t helped their cause.
Following their recent struggles, their Brazilian forward Richarlison has opened up about the progress made under Ange Postecoglou.
He shared some insight into the club’s plans for the upcoming transfer window as they look to improve on this season’s performances.
Richarlison while speaking to ESPN Brazil, said: “Look, we presented a much more dynamic and, let’s say, more elegant and beautiful football than last season.
“But we have evolved, we have evolved a lot and I believe that, as of this week, it has already been announced that the coach will make changes, so I believe that next season he’ll be putting together a much more competitive team.”
While Tottenham have struggled to win games in recent weeks, Richarlison feels they have evolved as a team under Postecoglou during the course of the season. They have been playing a more attractive and attacking brand of football in comparison to last season.
The 26-year-old even highlighted the fact that the manager has already made it clear that they are all set to make major changes in the squad in the summer. Those changes will have a significant impact on their squad and he feels they will have a much more competitive team next season.
Spurs will look to add more depth and quality to their squad as they look to end their wait for a trophy. Postecoglou has already brought in some quality additions to the team and the new signings will further help him implement his style of play in a much better way.
