“Will be rejected” – Tottenham brace themselves for setback in pursuit of Premier League duo

According to the latest Football Insider report, Leicester City are set to reject Tottenham’s £50m bid for James Maddison and Harvey Barnes.

James Maddison and Harvey Barnes are two players who are likely to leave the club this summer following Leicester’s relegation.

Both players have attracted interest from several clubs and will be in demand this transfer window.

Tottenham’s interest in James Maddison is well documented. They have also been linked with Harvey Barnes recently.

According to Football Insider, the North London club’s combined £50m bid for the two players “will be rejected”.

The report claims that Leicester City have found the bid much lower than their valuation for the the pair of them.

So far Leicester City have proven to be tough to negotiate with. Earlier reports claimed that Daniel Levy is not willing to pay the £50m Leicester are demanding for James Maddison.

The report claimed than talks with the club have come to a stand-off and that Levy is hoping that the longer the saga goes on, the more chances of him getting a reduced fee for the attacking midfielder due to his contract situation.

However, Newcastle are also very strongly interested in him and there will remain a risk of losing him to their Premier League rivals who hold the financial advantage over Spurs as well as the allure of Champions League football.

New manager Ange Postecoglou wants to sign James Maddison and has already given the club the green light to sign him.

James Maddison would be the ideal midfielder for Spurs who have desperately missed an attacking midfielder this past season.

He would add the much needed creativity that Spurs have lacked and with a more attacking set up, he could be an instant hit at the club.
