Firstly, let’s get the Coronavirus business out of the way. As a dramatic form of crisis, it was one that affected businesses that weren’t deemed essential without fear or favour. What grates, however, is just how exposed you as our CEO, left the business.
This is as good a juncture to make your apologists squirm to be reminding everyone that SARS insurance absolutely was a product freely available, Wimbledon took an option, and yet THFC whose long-standing commercial partner is the South East Asian and global insurance giant AIA, and you did not avail.
The debt arising which is the result of a program you embarked upon, is eye-watering, but the true worry here is that no other football business on Earth has pursued a route as extreme as your choice. I appreciate that pioneers by their very nature need to go first, this initiative has left us in a position that is not just embarrassing, but one that now potentially threatens the very existence of the football club.
Whilst this may come as a slight shock to you, but some of us are wholly disinterested in your Haringey edition of Monopoly and have our eyes firmly fixed upon the football club. It could have escaped your attention in the cut thrust of realizing your commercial dreams, but your core clients are football fans. Our preferred sport of choice is football, and we love Spurs. Everything else comes second, third and fourth. This is not to demean or insult anyone, because most folks at Cheltenham are there for the racing, and at F1 meets, to watch the cars fizz around.
My point here, is are you still making good decisions on behalf of the business? You were hell-bent on hiring the serial winner coach José Mourinho, and yet it would appear that you also knew better than he when it came to the mechanics of the squad.
So here we are once, more in the playground of the broken-hearted. Up to our ears in debt, no vague hope of trophies, no coach, no transfer funds, and surrounded by an ageing, and a fundamentally unsuccessful bunch of players most of whom have failed to deliver now for 3 managers on the bounce. Ah, ah, ah… tangible success to normal folk Mr. Levy is winning silverware. We are primarily football fans, not spreadsheet aficionados.
The squad is as some assessed some time ago, too mentally and too physically weak to do any good in footballing terms. Once again, for clarity, I am not talking about how anyone feels, I am purely discussing the metrics used in professional sports on this planet.
Unless I’m missing something, there’s no money for a squad rebuild unless we can sell in a deflated market (which is always inadvisable), and judging upon your price point for the last game of the season, the plan is to brazen this out at the full price, simply hoping to get across the line somehow.
As you consider your position, let me reinforce just how bad things are for you at this precise moment. I’ve been a massive critic of yours for some time, but I’m actually against the current #ENICOUT nonsense because as thuggish as you and your minions might have sought to paint me, I realized that all my evidencing of the daft things you were doing hadn’t done enough to prick the consciousness of the masses. In fact, by the time the European Super League blew up in your face – despite it being too late to meaningfully challenge you – the mob had apparently reached a tipping point, and so now you’ve now got fans using #LevyOut on social media like it’s some sort of template. That’s how bad things are, little old me has been superseded by …an angry mob!
A cynic would look at the debt, the size of the task in getting the squad into something a good coach might be able to use and think that you’d placed all your casino chips on the ESL to get you out of schtook.
Is it time to move on and take the questionable decisions with you, time for some football people – with a head for business to come in – and salvage this drifting wreck? When does the lifeboat arrive?
I feel really close to my club man. I see her everyday. Tottenham Hotspur football club is stronger than all the nonsense going on now. Levy. Enic. NFL concerts and all the rest of it. These are all moments in her life/history. 100 odd years time there will be a different stadium different ENIC a different levy with different sports with different fans. My club strong. Looking out the window at the stadium now she needs a wash. Ride the ride and enjoy.
Tottenham Hotspur is invincible
By the time I officially retire (about 10 years time) Tottenham and her stadium gonna be bringing me nuff joy. Hopefully there will be the cheese room by then🌚
Oh and the cricket. West indies vs England
Tottenham Hotspur used to have a wicked cricket team back in the day
All kool by the pool.
It is how I see the present owners and the direction of travel Tapps. The essence of THFC lies in the hearts and minds of the supporters. For twenty years ENIC has attached itself to that unconditional loyalty, created over decades before they appeared, sucking the soul and lifeblood from it. We now have a greater disconnect between generational supporters or “legacy fans” as we were referred to in the recent ESL debacle than I have ever seen before. I believe that ENIC hoped that before that disconnect happened they would be long down the road of multiple income streams that made the need for football success a marginal aspect of the overall success of the money-making machine vision of the NFL events stadium.
When did I say they were a force for good? I don’t even bother with them. It is what it is. I’m all about the team
Tappa, I appreciate you have your views on ENIV being a force for good, but the overwhelming evidence I have suggests otherwise and I’m bored reading this stuff.
Try reddit/coys they will love that stuff there #GoHotspurs
“Fans like myself being treated with contempt by the football club? How’s that then? I get more from my club than my club gets from me. I’ve paid my dues. My club serves me and my community well on many fronts. She also serves some charities I work with too (harin
Veiled threats? Or you misunderstood me. Listen I don’t start on people, they start on me because I support my club and dont jump on the ENIC/LEVY hate thing. All sorts I’ve been called. Me is a man that sticks up for myself. Simple
I don’t need to be part of any clique I’m not gonna jump on you mans hate thing to be in your gang. Me will roam alone. You never have anything good to say about TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOOTBALL CLUB. its all lewis/levy hate. You hate them more than you love the football club
Let’s clear up a few facts. Tappa responded to me. I did not initiate the discourse. Frankly, I never respond to him out of choice as I have been called a number of foul names by him in the past and have also been the subject of some rather pathetic veiled threats.
I understand you feel some kinship for him as you come from the same area of London but it doesn’t matter where any Spurs fan was born or lives, it does not make him less of a fan. I was born in South London but for various reasons became a Spurs fan and have been since 1962. I believe that the majority of Utd fans don’t live in Manchester. I watch every Spurs game on TV as I don’t live in the UK, so I also continue to support my team. Are the fans of Arsenal who hate Kroenke not real supporters? Do you belittle the Utd fans who loathe the Glazers? I will continue to criticise Enic and Levy who have no interest in the success of the football club and are only interested in their property business and enriching themselves. If you and Tappa want to think that by supporting Spurs, you also want present Enic as some a force for good, feel free to carry on , but please remember that it is the fans like yourselves that are treated with complete contempt by the owners.
“Tappa maybe right? Tappa is right🌚 we won’t be going ” bankrupt. Have a blessed day my bredrin
We need fans back in and events kicking off like concerts and boxing matches.. 70,000 watched Billy Joe vs Canelo.. This and match days so we can start paying off that debt.. Tappa may be right but its all about covid still.. Our stadium will create huge revenue this is certain, but as long as we don’t go bankrupt first…. On match day Man City bar and food makes about 90-100k, yet ours was banging out 1million.. We need the whole world to get back to normal and our revenue is going to rocket.
Can spot’m a mile off too mate.
Dem kinda man ain’t no threat to me. Dealt with them kinda people in prisons all over the country (and on the out). Minor. Light work
The guvnors watching me so I’ve gotta watch what I say
Well said 👌
No Taps was just giving his opinion.. It’s you who is still rather new round here, as per usual have come flying with your name calling. You’re in the same mould as Easty, anyone who disagrees with your opinion are immediately wrong, beneath you, and called all sorts… Lets get real here, you don’t run your mouth in any pub or stadium or anywhere in England, you are no fighter I can tell by the way you talk, so you mouth off behind your keyboard because you know you’re safe and sound. Talk like you do to anyone and you’d soon be getting a broken nose or a proper hiding.. Sad man… I haven’t always agreed with Tappa, but we’ve always spoke to each other with respect, I would consider him a friend now and fellow Yiddo of course.. Have some respect.. Look up to the true OGs of this blog who have been here from the beginning bar me because the likes of Limerick Al, DD, Lord Croker, Cabspur,Auzzie in Switzerland etc, always give their opinion, but ALWAYS talk to everyone with respect.. Model blogists… You however are a keyboard warrior clown.
How many at the new plac€?
The past at the new lane would be pretty hard not to remember. This is our first full season in
How about full support for 14-15 managers? What more can we expect from our “football” supremo?
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it – George Santana.
I kind of agree but I think you can excuse players for not being of quality…but lacking energy, and heart is unforgivable.. I know our defence takes a fair share of flak & rightly so but without players competing in midfield, our defenders continually get overwhelmed…. in some ways losing the next 3 games would be the best thing to happen to us as opposed to fudging European football next season.
Its like people want me to turn against my club coz they have coz of lewis&levy. NEVER.
The way some of you talk about Tottenham is disgusting
Bought by ENIC”. do you know how ridiculous that sounds. ENIC are paying me to say good things about them on the internet. You’re the ones who have sold out re tottenham. You don’t even love the club anymore coz of lewis and levy. Not me. Me love my club still and her wonderful new home.
Toilet bowl? Tottenhams stadium/facilities are the envy of the world. Sorted for 100 years. Its only some spurs fans who don’t appreciate it.
Real Madrid about to copy it (two pitch’s) some spurs fans want our stadium to be for football only. Unreal. Not me
I know my club gonna come good. I just know it. TOTTENHAM COME FE CONQUER. got to a CL final broke , why can’t we get to another one flush? (And win it) the futures bright. People going on like we are hopeless. Not me.
People think Daniel levy can kill Tottenham Hotspur. Unbelievable.
Tottenham will still be here long after everyone on here is dead.
Can’t go wrong with loyalty to those you love. I love my club and the manor in which she lives. That’s just me. I ain’t gonna stop loving my wife coz my in-laws are not to my liking. Me nar go let them fck up my relationship
What money? 20 years? My club has only been in her new money making home a sh!t& a shave
Very apt!
Indeed, we’ve been seeing what he does with money for the past 20 years!
Coz I dont lose my head while all around me lose there’s?
Kool nuh
You should have acquired some level of maturity and wisdom by now, then!
He’s certainly had plenty of time – about 20 years – to come up with something beneficial to the club but he hasn’t managed it yet!
Why don’t you post that to Levy? Spot on!
We need to stop turning on our own. Tappa is able to separate support for our club from the behaviour of the owners. He’s right to do so and I wish I could too. Unfortunately there is very little we can realistically do about the owners – we have no leverage. But we can support our team as (hopefully) it and us will still be here when the current owners are gone. It’s unlikely to be pretty in the meantime but all we can do is live in the present and hope for the future. Jumping in on our own supporters with a long history of supporting the club and living in the local area isn’t acceptable in my mind. Go after ENIC all you like, I’m right with you, but we Spurs fans are and must remain one brotherhood.
Ok
Ok
You may laugh. TMD
😂😂😂
That’s because I’m a strong character who leads men. In and on the out) If only you knew. Let’s leave it there
Your comments define you.
And now imbicile. You don’t know me.
I’m not. You’re the one who came with the boy rubbish.
Always spoiling for a fight. The refuge of an utter imbecile.
Nope. Its me tappa
Ok Donna.
Must do. Don’t try n give it Charlie large mate.
History books from the new lane? I talk to real people
Makes more sense with that info!
Of course I have. Joe pays me cash
I look at history to educate myself. Reigns in the more idiotic things I could be tempted to say.
You’ve been bought by Enic as I always suspected.
Yes as in I work for ENIC? REALLY?
There are no new lane facts that back up he won’t. No sane person would say? Not everyone is as negative as you.
‘Everything will be ok when Levy starts spending’ isn’t something any sane person is clinging on to. There are no facts to back up your blind faith in Levy and it’s just tiresome hearing such nonsense.
Oh and yes. I do get community tickets. Thank you
Oh and European games clasford MBE and I (with a few others) go with the Tottenham youngsters. (We look after them)
I
Strikes me that is a yes.
Less of the “boy please. I’m 56 with 12 offspring. Thank you
Whatever you say.
Whatever you say.
😂
Have you ever been employed by or currently work for Enic?
Do you receive any emoluments from Enic, eg, free match tickets? Are you Donna Cullen in disguise?
enic fan boy. It’s years of this crap to come as Levy has mismanaged the whole thing. Will be plenty of seats at the toilet bowl for you to marvel at next year.
You see me, resentments/grudges is something I’m not on. My old man said to me once “those who carry resentments and hold grudges become bitter when old” all this not spending in two transfer windows blah blah blah are things that don’t bother me. It is what it was. Who cares about Levy’s old antics? Not me. I’m looking at now and the future. I think Tottenhams future is bright. But hey that’s just me. The past is where it is
As a Spurs fan since 1962, I am something of an arriviste on this site, but I must congratulate the anti Enic brigade and our own HH for their long time animus towards everything Enic. The THST who have always paid lip service to Enic have belatedly woken up to the fact that Enic and Levy have absolutely no interest in securing success on the football pitch which is no no bad thing and are only interested in increasing the value of their property empire which is stating the obvious. However, I, for one, feel that there is a sea of change regarding the relationship between the supporters and the mega wealthy owners which I hope will make them realise that the fans can no longer be dismissed and ignored.
I thought our performance today was quite one of the worst I have seen for some time and for the Levy apologists who still think Bale was a great signing, go and jump in a cold bath. The performance of Eric Dier today summed up everything that is wrong with our playing staff. If anybody really does not understand the damage that Levy did to the team by not signing anyone for two transfer windows, then today’s performance might give them food for thought as to how much it will cost to reinvigorate this squad. If somebody can give me one example of something that Levy has achieved during his tenure which has benefited the club, apart form the usual world class facilities , blah, blah, blah, and not himself and his godfather, I would be delighted to know. In the meantime, it is Groundhog Day at Spurs and will continue to be so until that miserable little worm is removed or that senile tax dodger shuffles off his mortal coil.
God Almighty. Is that how you really see Tottenham Hotspur? Damn
1st priority , right back & 2 centre backs. New keeper will be needed. If La Celso & Ndombele are not fit enough then they dont play. Shape up or F off. Dier , Winks on a par with my grandmothers. They are no use to us. Sadly most of all we need nee owners
James
Brooke Bond
Basildon Bond
Nice guy = patsy
I kind of envy your belief Tappa but don’t share it. However, I guess we will see the proof one way or the other over the coming weeks.
That won’t be happening anytime soon. Get your nut round it. Don’t let them make you hate your club man
More like Bohemian.
👍
The days of not spending in transfer windows are over. I truly believe Daniel levy will start to operate differently and start to focus on the team. Big money coming in soon man. If ENIC do have any intention in selling they will know a strong team/squad (plus a few cups will earn them more money. Its quite simple really.
#Levy out #ENIC out
The Daniel we know has, like the rest of us, changed over the past 20 years. His direction of travel has inclined him, I think without exaggeration, almost exclusively to the business side of things. At some points he has paid lip service to the on field playing side of things and bought in some decent players. There have been periods when he has neglected this part of the football club totally when he failed to add to the squad for a couple of transfer windows. This benign? neglect has somewhat overtaken all else and coupled with no coherent managerial strategy we now have a fan/supporter malaise and as H says a genuine disconnect. If Daniel is to carry on for another 5 years then his attitude and behaviour towards supporters and the football side of things will have to change otherwise I don’t see this project going anywhere but further south.
Maybe the NFL stadium has people confused.. Manure and the Scouse have American owners.
He’s Bahamian.
Wouldn’t that be lovely. That and world peace.
There’s enough companies in this world raping any last resource this beautiful planet has left…cant we at least keep our sport Tappa for a place people can go to be entertained with friends and family and create a place to be happy and proud, have a break from the grind of normal life…..theres plenty of places they can rinse people for money, why does it have to be our sport..
I believe you are being misguided, they may not take dividends but they reinvest the profit into property and not the team to build the portfolio to sell at a later date, its free low tax money….
Yep. No place like it though. Best city in the world🌚
I know. That’s the joy of living in London!
If your looking to buy a property you’d best come with a good good few quid. Haringey aint cheap
I like the idea.
British gangster
why do people keep thinking Joe is American, he’s British..
🌚👍
Move back man we miss ya🌚
Will do my man.
Yep, brilliant place. Still got friends who moved into the street so get down there a bit.
Killed THFC? THFC CANT BE KILLED
You summed my feelings in a nutshell. I agree our players lack energy but they also lack basic skills. We can’t defend and apart from Toby our back four are clueless. How Dier gets the nod is beyond my comprehension, he is slow, ponderous and has little idea how to defend but gets in the team somehow. Surely we have young guns in the academy who have more agility, heart and must be better than the lot that appears weak after week. Whilst Levy has been at the helm for 20 years I believe we have won just one league cup. Our American owner has never invested and hardly ever attends a game. The sooner he and Levy depart the better.
Rectory gdns” know it well. Haringey is a wonderful place. Crouch end. Muswell hill. Parts of Highgate. Stroud green. Wood green bounds green and of course wonderful Tottenham. 🌚 oh and not forgetting the fantastic ally pally
And the great river lee
St Gildas off Crouch Hill. Lived in Rectory Gardens off Park Road. Loved it and still miss it.
Stop worrying bruva. Everything will be fine
Its a part of it. Was in hornsey earlier. Did you go st Davids & st Katherine’s school?
Agree with you on Conte for the squad. The other two factors will still take the best part of £2bn to deal with.
I was born and spent my first 18 years in Hornsey Tappa. I’m still in north London but moved a bit further out 30+ years ago. I know the borough needs money. The council tax charge isn’t the reason our ticket prices are the highest in the country.
I’m not ENIC OUT. New people might start taking money out of the club. Do people really think that a new owner will make any difference? Do they think a new owner is gonna chuck the new manager £100s of millions? We don’t need a new owners money we can make our own. As for levy its better the Daniel you know. I for one is prepared to give new lane levy 5 Years to show me how he operates with money.
I think this sense of disconnect between the fanbase and the club is probably greater than I have experienced since ENIC took over. The smokescreen of the new stadium has been used by ENIC for most of their tenure and now that it has arrived we are beginning to smell the pungent aroma of its festering carcass dragging down the football business and all associated with it. My guess is that godson Daniel and Uncle Joe were hoping that before the jig was up and the smoke cleared they would be long gone down the road of no return having gutted the insides of the club leaving an empty soulless carcass that was filling up with NFL DNA. Thus leaving the previous client reference numbers(CRN) as inconsequential entities to the future revenue streams of the ENIC vision. However, what ENIC had not factored into their melting pot of orgasmic cash generation off the back of generational debt for the brand they purchased, was the deposit of a global virus, courtesy of the social credit innovators over in Wuhan and their mother ship the CCP. It is no wonder that the toxic atmosphere that permeates behind the backdrop of this organisation has manifested itself on the playing surface and is represented in the hearts and minds of the eleven or so individuals most of whom perform like detached automatons who are as colorful and creative as the vomit-inducing football kit that Nike has foisted upon them. Yet another demonstration of ENIC’s enduring attachment to all things monetary and remote from the heritage and history of THFC. I am at this present moment in my torturous journey as a CRN more than happy to see this club plummet faster than a hooker’s knickers if it is the shortest and only path that will lead to real and meaningful change, Change which as we all know is to see Uncle Joe and ENIC sail away over their Bermuda Triangle horizon with little Daniel frantically doggy paddling behind him.
It’s not just energy but quality they don’t have.
