This is messy my friends, even with so little football remaining to be played out, but I shall do my upmost to get the salient points across that mark out our path to European football. All eyes in the first instance are on Wolves, who have yet to play Chelsea. If the Wolves lose, then we’ve little to do, other than avoid a loss against Palace.
If Wolves win or draw, then Spurs must beat Palace to qualify.
Should Wolves win or draw, and Spurs blow it, then our attention turns to the FA Cup final, then we’ll need Chelsea to beat Arsenal at Wembley in order that the CFC qualify as cup winners, opposed to their league position.
The asterisk is the sum of all fears, namely that Arsenal overtakes us in the league and render all the above academic.
Our future as the phrase goes, is not entirely in our own hands.
For all the trash-talk about the cup, our best hope is that Chelsea (in 3rd) and Arsenal (in 10th) put all their energies into finishing the season by lifting a trophy – which might allow Spurs to slip through into the Europa League.
Well the Gooners are gone and We’ll beat Palace.
I am not a betting man so can’t put up odds, I always use percentages so I would put us about 40/60?
